Les classements officiels viennent de tomber, en Trophée la France compte 10'22''42 d'avance sur les Etats Unis et en Junior les Etats Unis possèdent 1'45''50 d'avance sur la France. Ce jour était différent des précédents, très rocheux, je me suis amusée, j'ai aimé plus que hier. Cette édition des Six jours a été très dure, sans doute l'une des courses la plus difficiles que j'ai couru, j'ai particulièrement aimé. C'était différent des jours précédents. La piste était rocailleuse, j'ai eu bien du plaisir.

Leader du classement individuel, Pierre Alexandre Renet est bien parti pour ajouter un nouveau succès à son excellente série 2015. "Encore une bonne journée pour l'Equipe de France, et pour moi puisque je termine deux de la journée derrière Taylor Robert tout en augmentant mon avance au scratch de deux secondes sur Toby Price. Tout va bien, aujourd'hui c'était moins compliqué que hier car on découvrait un nouveau circuit et de nouvelles spéciales, c'était moins monotone et on a découvert d'autres paysages, c'était sympa à rouler. Aujourd'hui j'ai mis du gaz, je me suis donné tout en nettoyant un peu la piste puisque j'ouvrais la route! Ce matin en me levant j'étais un peu fatigué, mais dès que je suis monté sur la moto ca allait mieux et ce soir en rentrant au paddock ca va. Ce qui est top c'est qu'on ne va pas aller marcher dans les spéciales ce soir, vu qu'on a déjà roulé sur le terrain de cross ou nous serons demain pour la dernière journée de ces ISDE."

Day 5 of the ISDE brought renewed enthusiasm for all the riders, after some hot and challenging Days 3 and 4. The course was all new for Day 5, and consisted of 3 special tests, with two of them repeated for a total of five tests.
I’m happy to report that there were no “casualties” today, and all U.S. riders that started today, were able to finish, and prepare for the final moto of Day 6 tomorrow. Taylor Robert was the overall winner for Day 5, and the World Trophy Team still sits in second place. It is unlikely that they can make up the time difference in tomorrow’s final moto unless the French Team lost a rider. The Junior Trophy Team is currently in first place and poised to take home a world championship if they can sustain their pace tomorrow on the motocross track! Mandi Mastin is still the sole survivor in the Women’s Trophy class for the U.S. Women.
For the Club Teams, all the remaining riders are still putting in amazing performances in their respective classes. Earlier in the week, the U.S. Club Teams were completely dominating, securing the first four club team positions. Unfortunately, each of those four teams lost a rider on Day 3, and therefore dropped out of contention for the overall club team championship because club team riders must all finish, and do not have the luxury of dropping the lowest score.
However, based on individual performances, the U.S. is still making their mark with the following results through day 5:
It’s been one crazy week and there are way more stories to be told, especially from the riders who were stranded in the desert on Wednesday, each with their own rescue story, some crazier than others. Everyone is really looking forward to the final moto tomorrow and putting a wrap on this Six Days.
Due to the schedule that is required on Day 6 (final moto, then washing bikes, packing up all the crates, and loading the container, then packing luggage and personal items, and then a few hours of sleep before heading for the airport Monday morning), it is unlikely that I’ll have a chance to share much of a wrap-up and photos tomorrow. Josh is on Row 1 tomorrow morning and will be one of the first 3 riders to head out. Due to the extreme attrition rate from earlier in the week, there will only be one moto per class (usually there is a “Fast” moto, and then a “Slower” Moto for each of the Club classes based on the performance during the week, but this year they will be able to fit all the riders from each class on the moto gate, starting with C1 first).
If I do not have time tomorrow, I wanted to take this chance to say Thank You!!!! The show of support at home and across the country and even the world for that matter, has been beyond comprehension! Additionally, I hope that I have been able to provide some photos, insight, and a little reflection on the experiences of so many of the other U.S. riders. The ISDE is unlike anything else in the world, and we consider ourselves very blessed to have been able to do this three years in a row and to have made the friendships that we have around the world. It would not be possible without the incredible generosity and interest provided by so many of you at home. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!

Test 2/5 was in some adjacent land to this guy' house. You had to drive right through his driveway to access the test. His family was selling food from their front doorstep (I think). Notice the obligatory "Dish" on the house.
The locals were out in masses today, but at the Tests and lining the roads during transfer sections. After the final test, I drove the same route as the racers back to the paddock and itw as like a 20 mile parade route with kids and families lining the streets everywhere, just begging for one of the racers to pop a wheelie or give them a thumbs up or high-five as they raced by.

One of the cool things about the ISDE is that is it is a mecca for motorcyclists. This seemed even more prevalent in Europe, but we've seen a lot of adventure bikes from fans all over the world.

The motorcycle yard sale has already begun. The locals have been trying to buy stuff from everyone all week long. It got really crazy at the end of today. It was like feeding hungry fish. Josh was getting undressed by our crate and there was a crowd standing around wanting to buy his sweaty socks, knee/shin guards and anything you would offer. Rumor has it that the locals have to pay over $300 U.S. dollars for a set of tires, so they're excited at the prospect of getting some used tires for a lot less money. Tomorrow is going to be even more crazy with the crowds wanting to buy stuff.

Day 5 : le but n’est pas loin…
Le parc fermé a bien triste figure. Les places vides sont plus nombreuses que les occupées et les Argentins ont été obligés de composer avec cette masse de retraits. Ce Day 5, qui proposait un parcours vers le nord, a donc été modifié à l’image de celui de la veille. C’est-à-dire qu’un tronçon a été carrément supprimé et que les rescapés des équipes de club ont bénéficié de près d’une demi-heure de rabiot pour accomplir le parcours. N’empêche qu’après une liaison routière pour atteindre le CH1, les pilotes ont retrouvé des rios, des montées et descentes empierrées où l’attention devait être des tous les instants si l’on ne voulait pas partir à la faute. Dommage aussi que les concurrents soient physiquement à bout car ils n’ont pu apprécier à leur juste valeur les très belles spéciales avec fortes montées et descentes dessinées à flanc de grandes collines que cette journée proposait.
C’est avec près de dix minutes d’avance que Wim et Jérémy atteignaient les ravitaillements. Pierre avait un peu plus difficile et arrivait en catastrophe, juste dans sa minute. En fin de journée, sans doute en voulait-il vraiment pour son argent en allant prendre le tracé initialement prévu pour accomplir une boucle supplémentaire non prévue au programme! Bilan 12 minutes de retard. Heureusement, cette pénalité supplémentaire n’avait aucune influence sur notre classement inter-nations (9e). L’important était que nos trois rescapés atteignent l’arrivée. Il ne reste qu’une courte étape avec l’épreuve de motocross collective pour que le but soit atteint!

Six Days Argentinie.
Hallo,
Het zwaarste zit erop, 5 dagen lang hebben we alle hoeken en kanten van San Juan en omstreken gezien. Morgen volgt nog 39 km route en dan sluiten we af met een MX wedstrijd per klasse.Vandaag was het een vrij korte maar wel zware dag. De route liep bijna uitsluitend over scherpe stenen en gedroogde rivierbeddingen. We gingen ook redelijk de bergen in en reden soms kilometers lang over een smal pad van amper 50 cm breed. Op zich geen probleem, ware het niet dat de wind langs de kant zat. Na dagen in het zand was het wel even wennen aan de hardere ondergrond en stenen in de proeven. Het ging redelijk maar zonder meer, zowieso begint het in je hoofd te spelen dat je zo dicht tegen het einde geen gekke dingen meer gaat doen. Al zal het feit dat het beste er al even af is, ook wel een rol spelen. Ik werd vandaag wederom 12de in de E3 klasse en zonder ongelukken kan dat niet veel meer veranderen.Dat de dag korter was betekende niet dat er niets kon gebeuren, stenen genoeg die je uitlaat of carter zomaar kunnen doorboren. Dat gebeurde nog bij een Argentijn. Ik kon zijn oliesporen volgen, gelukkig voor hem haalde ik hem in en maakte er hem attent op. Later kwam hij mij bedanken want hij was zich van geen kwaad bewust, nu had hij het kunnen herstellen. Ook de Fransman Fabien Planet kroop door het oog van de naald, zijn voetpakking was lek en reed zo een time-check van 1.15 uur door om de 10 minuten water bij te vullen. Aangekomen bij de volgende TC kon hij het euvel verhelpen, weliswaar met de nodige 8 minuten straftijd. Vanavond heb ik alleen nog een filter gewisseld en morgen wissel ik nog een band bij de laatste TC aan de crossbaan.
Zo, dat was het zowat voor vandaag.

Journée de vendredi un peu plus difficile que les autres pour Jeremy Carpentier, qui n'a pas vraiment trouvé ses marques dans les nouvelles spéciales du jour. "C'était une journée assez compliquée, les spéciales n'étaient pas faciles à rouler, les cailloux ne bougeaient pas et la trace ne se faisait pas vraiment, c'était un cinquième jour usant, avec des liaisons compliquées. J'ai pris un peu de plaisir dans la spéciale 2, et un peu moins dans les autres. Les chronos ne sont pas exceptionnels mais ils ne sont pas mauvais non plus, ca va être dur d'aller chercher les ricains. Ca parait compliqué de les devancer à la régulière mais on va rien lâcher, c'est surtout pas le moment! On est à une journée du bonheur absolu, donc on va tout donner samedi dans le cross final."

Jeudi soir au moment de changer son pneu avant, Anthony Boissière a vu celui ci sortir de la jante, sans doute sous l'effet conjugué de la chaleur et de l'énervement. Vendredi matin séance de mécanique obligatoire pour Anthony qui s'en est sorti avec maestria, bien conseillé par son mécanicien. Pour info les pilotes ont 10mn pour faire la mécanique chaque matin (et 15 mn le soir) entre la sortie du parc fermé et le départ sur le podium.

Petit moment de convivialité hier soir, Philippe 'Phiphi' Julien cuisinier attitré des Equipe de France MX et Enduro fêtait son 57èe anniversaire. L'équipe lui a offert des couteux 'made in Argentina' pour le remercier de son dévouement sans limite dans le domaine de la cuisine!
